Blessing Dowaity a participant of our Accelerated Learning program, the Second Chance is an eight year’ old who lives with her foster family in Kendeja, along the RIA Highway. Before joining KEEP, Blessing had never been to school. In 2024, Blessing couldn’t identify letters or make their sounds. Through our Accelerated Learning program, the Second Chance, she learned letter recognition, phonics, and how to blend two- and three-letter words.
Blessing is now forming and reading simple sentences. Over the years her English speaking and reading skills has improved dramatically, from reading zero words to reading with growing fluency. She surpassed the Second Chance benchmark for reading improvement and was promoted from Grade 0 directly to Grade 2.
