The goal of the event was to raise funds to support KEEP’s ongoing programs as well as the establishment of new Reading Rooms in rural Liberia in 2018.
Serving as guest speaker for the occasion, the President of the Rotary Club of Monrovia, Mrs. Monique Cooper Liverpool commended KEEP for its passion and commitment to seeing a better Liberia through its educational initiatives. Ms. Liverpool noted that “KEEP has brought light and joy through these reading rooms to places in dire need, such as hard-to-reach Gbarpolu and Grand Gedeh Counties and the Love A Child orphanage on the Robertsfield Highway. These reading rooms have also created an avenue for others to get involved and volunteer sharing exciting stories with young readers – a pathway to offer their own time, talents, and treasure.”

She encouraged those present to use their talents to help build the Liberia they want to see and not just stand by the sidelines. She went on to note the many achievements of KEEP over the past 3 years from the establishment of 4 reading Rooms, to setting up a junor Toastmasters club, to training more than 50 school girls in vocational skills to countless reading sessions with students.
The crowd was entertained by the Liberia National Cultural Troupe, the Lofa County Culltural Troup and Faithvonic, a young aspiring female artist.
Also gracing the occasion, Hon. Felecia Doe-Somah, Assistant Minister of Education who served as the Chief Fundraiser encouraged those present to ssupport the work of KEEP as what they do is important to the overall goal of ensuring children across Liberia have access to quality education. She commended the work KEEP is doing both in Montserrdao and rural Liberia.
Making remarks as the event, KEEP’s Founder, Ms. Brenda Brewer Moore used the occasion to thank everyone for purchasing a ticket to attend the event and supporting the work over the years. She thanked the corporate sponsors of this year’s dinner: Heineken, LISCR, Jeety Trading, Royal Hotel, Office Ideas SQEED, Aminata & Sons, Petro Trade, KMTV, Coco Cola Liberia. and International Bank.
A visually impaired beneficiary of KEEP’s tuition support program, Victoria Maizee made remarks at the events and called on those present to continue to give back and help others less fortunate and thanked KEEP for always supporting her over the years.
The fundraiser yielded U$14,000 in pledges and U$6,000 in Corporate Sponsorship.
