KEEP Welcomes New Intern: Maureen

KEEP Liberia is excited to welcome its newest inter Ms. Maureen Davies.

Maureen is a current President’s Young Professional (PYP) at the President’s Young Professionals Program in Liberia, a platform that is dedicated to building the next generation of Liberian Leaders.

She has been placed with KEEP for the next one year.

She is a graduate of the African Methodist Episcopal University, where she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with emphasis in Chemistry.

Maureen loves to write and is a poet, social activist and an aspiring Educator.

She is also the founder of LighttBiz, an educative-creative venture, and a member of We Write Liberia, an educational and creative arts organization.

In 2019, she was the winner of the “We write” ( Liberia’s first poetry writing competition) and also the winner of the “Mama Liberia” writing challenge by Liaspora. She has also emerged as finalist in other creative writing challenges.

Through the Young Scholars of Liberia platform, Maureen secured a published poem in the DovesTale international magazine-2019.

Through her work with Libpedia, Maureen managed the “50/50″ initiative, a platform committed to promoting women’s political participation and inclusion, as well as building emerging young women’s leadership capacities.
